First Mike and Stu were fantastic. What a great couple of guys, easy to get along with, always with humour, both very knowledgeable and helpful. They really made the trip great for me, along with Walter and Fred who I spent a lot of time with playing cards, climbing with and just sitting around talking. The cooks themselves were fantastic guys, always ready to do whatever was needed. All you had to do was ask and they would immediately make great efforts to help. I felt they went way beyond the call of duty in terms of how they supported us. I have an unbelievably positive feeling about the whole event both during and looking back. It was such a thrill for me to spend that amount of time deep in the mountains, to be really involved in the climbing of a 8000er and to have enjoyed the camaraderie of spending time with a bunch of great guys that will I expect continue to be friends for many years to come.

I want to say thanks to all of you for having a great expedition together. I am really glad I took part of the climb on Broad Peak. I think the expedition was well organised and very good value for money. Since I have the feeling we were working very well as a team, the things that didn’t work out as expected were a nice challenge and it was always fun solving the small problems together. I think that’s the main factor of having a successful expedition. Living together with a group of people you hardly know in the beginning and leaving with a feeling you’re saying goodbye to some really good friends. I also liked the fact that we were able to do our own thing and that we didn’t have to follow military style decisions from one guy leading the expedition like it is on many of those trips, but know we would be brought into line if we did anything unsafe... So climbing together and not just following. See all of you in the future.

The Broad Peak climb was a great experience. K2 is an awesome looking mountain, and to be camped under it for a few weeks was amazing. Your staff are great guys, always ready to help, Taqui was a great bloke as well. We were a real mixed bunch and everyone got along well. To get up into the Karakoram for the first time was an inspiring experience Dave, I think I'll be going back some time.
