Summit !Yes, we summitted!! Gordon, Pierre-O, Denis and Olivier summitted on 26 July. Jamie summitted on 27 July. 26 July - summitMalte, Mike F, Mehdi, Gordon, Pierre-O, Denis and Olivier began around 1:30am breaking trail in ankle deep (at least) icy cold snow, reaching the Col around 9:15am. Some hard work.
A little above the col the team takes a break before
tackling the ridge, note that only half of the ridge is visible here. At the point above Malte, Mehdi and Mike turned around. Malte had cold feet and hands, Mehdi and Mike because the time was late and to conserve energy for another summit attempt; in fact Mehdi made the true summit the next day. Gordon, Pierre-O, Denis and Olivier reached the Fore-summit around 14:30pm still in tough conditions. More pictures to come later? |
