We have just received information from a Canadian expedition that leader Jamie McGuiness and one other as yet unidentified member reached the TRUE summit (26,550ft) without oxygen, late yesterday, and have safely descended to Camp 4.

We understand a second wave of climbers from the FTA team and another expedition are making further bids today.

Malte, Mike F, Mehdi, Gordon, Pierre-O, Denis and Olivier began around 1:30am breaking trail in ankle deep (at least) icy cold snow, reaching the Col around 9:15am. Some hard work.

Gordon, Pierre-O, Denis and Olivier reached the False summit around 14:30pm still in tough conditions.

Pierre-O and Denis skiied down from just below the col, reaching Camp 3 with some tidy "8" turns.
