Another week of bad weather is beginning to get at climbers in the Karakorum. There are more reports about members of teams heading down into the valley towards home. Weather forecasts predict better weather coming in later this week, however, and many teams have already established high camps. So there is a possibility of summit bids beginning as early as wednesday.

Weather:

Instability and showers with moderate to occasionally strong winds are in the short-term forecast with more favorable weather by the end of this week/start of the weekend. The strong jet is well north of the Mountain throughout the period. Winds are expected to be moderate throughout the period with a possible increase in winds tomorrow near the Summit. Look for winds to be out of the W/SW. Showers, heavy at times, are expected below 7500m through at least the middle of the week possibly into Friday. High pressure may build into the area increasing stability and bringing more favorable weather by the end of the week/start to the weekend.

Broad Peak:

Field Touring Alpine Yannick and Fabien are both well.

Dutch From BC on Friday they are looking at Wednesday to climb up to Camp 3.
