Un mail de Field Touring ce soir nous indique que nous devrions avoir des informations demain. La journée a été marqué par la réussite de K2 par la face Sud.
Hi all,
We have not received any information as yet about the outcome of todays assumed summit attempts. Neither has there been any news whatsoever from any other teams at G2 base-camp. We do know 2 climbers summitted adjacent G1 yesterday.
We do know that neither of the teams took sat phones up the hill with them. Late today K2climb.net reported that the summit of K2 had been reached by multiple climbers: http://www.k2climb.net/
That will mean that weather conditions on nearby Broad Peak, and also G2, would have been conducive to an attempt.
Current weather reports indicate the day has been settled and that weather this afternoon and into this evening would remain settled.
From our experience and based on the advised schedule with Sue Fear at G2, we beleive that team made a bid today, and will tonight be back at C3, possibly even C2. We expect the next 24 hrs to yield further informatuion and will post as soon as we receive.
